The Native American was tragically discriminated against, We came to the country, we took there land, we killed off there people, if you are not familiar with.read the trail of tears. It was horrific....They got a few casinos as reparation. Trail of tears.... it was horrific. A sad part of our history to be sure but any conquered land has much the same story. Does it make it right? Nope, but even the native people fought back and forth over this land before the Europeans came. I truly think the grand experiment of a nation within a nation failed miserably. Why because too many took advantage of treaties on both sides. And it still happens today. Like it or not Slavery was not invented in the US. It happened long before and actually in some forms still happen today. We cannot change the history and certainly cannot erase it...but we can learn and make changes to prosper. But to do this across the board would point out very deficient ideas like Communism, Marxism, Fascism, Socialism all have issue to the one thing our Democracy and Representative Republic does well, give you a chance to prosper from the efforts of your labor. We need to refocus on the Representative Republic part though as our leaders have become entrenched and now believe they are a higher order. Wow. You nailed it, just plain nailed it. Last sentence especially, but also in its entirety.

Did they ever own up to the native Americans. The trail of tears, I can’t imagine what those N.A. Went through on that long walk. They were kicked out of there homes, forced to move to a strange land, watched there families die of starvation and sickness, walked over a 1000 miles, promising the large financial aid which they never paid,..well until a few years later.. badger er I am not riding you, I have no doubt you know, i did my genealogy DNA,..Ancestry, and Heritage, found no Native American blood in me.... but I feel for those N.A.s. But on the other hand... we can not go back in history and change those wrongs, as stated, Traill of tears was horrific. Slavery was horriffic, wrong.. mega thousands gave the ultimate sacrifice during the civil war, THERE LIVES. For there freedom, to try and right that wrong... unfortunately many have not healed from it, Didn't one famous person say something like. Why can’t we love each other... Rodney King,,, I feel for all of those who suffered in the past. Deeply. That doesn’t mean I believe in reparations or think living in the past or making victims out of people today is right. I believe it’s wrong and manipulative. BUT, I also don’t think as a conservative I should have a nonchalant attitude about the past either or act like it wasn’t THAT big of a deal. No, it was THAT big of a deal. But there have been horrors on humans of different races and societies through all of recorded history also. We have to move forward and learn from our mistakes. I don’t believe in reparations either, whether Black, American Indian, other.no one alive today faced those injustices. How many Americans gave there lives to free slavery. They could justifiably claim the same, lets all live to respect each other.

Something I noticed this morning when looking for an NFL-related story on ESPN's NFL home page.... Below are the "headline" stories that appeared this morning (25th June 2020) when you click on ESPN's NFL home page...one thing popped-out to me: Top Headlines - Sources: Cowboys-Steelers HOF Game canceled - Cowboys' Elliott 'normal,' concerned with safety - Skins taking ex-owner Marshall off Ring of Fame - Roethlisberger details off-field addiction battles - Report: Brady, Bucs work out despite virus spike - Lions owner Ford steps down; daughter takes overIt was the use of the word "Skins" as the abbreviated name of the team name Washington Redskins, a mascot name which some ESPN writers have stated is racist and needs to be changed. For example, ESPN Sr. Writer Howard Bryant penned this piece in Nov 2017 in which he asks everyone how we - as a collective sports community of players, fans and writers - have not progressed past these "racist" mascots ( link). So yesterday ESPN ran a "town hall" style show on racism on their " The Undefeated" platform, primarily talking about racism in sports and society, primarily related to African Americans in the aftermath of the recent incidents. ESPN and their parent company, ABC, seem to be going out of their way in promoting / sensationalizing stories that involve African American racism - backlash over Brees' initial kneeling comments, siding with/promoting LeBron James' views/comments and most recently promoting the "racist" incident in NASCAR involving Bubba Wallace prior to all facts being known (by "promoting" I mean splashing the story all over their front page when generally NASCAR is given page 15 style treatment by the company). So I find it interesting and even a tad hypocritical that ESPN and their parent company, ABC, seem to be trying to tell us how systemically racist American sports fans in general are, but only certain types of racism - primarily African Americans. If they really and truly cared about systemic racism across the board involving all ethnic groups, I don't think you'd see the abbreviated word "Skins" in the headlines of any section of their website when some of their own Senior Writers have decried the use of the full name "Redskins". If we're going to use this moment as a collective country to talk about system racism in a true and honest attempt to progress and improve, then it can't be only racism against African Americans.... ...and I know I keep going back to Colt's GM Chris Ballard's statement after the Brees' comments, but I felt a certain "entitlement" in his statement/question when he asked why it was so uncomfortable for people to say "Black Lives Matter"...well, here's another reason why I think it's so uncomfortable: because when you say that, it focuses on just one race or group of people while ignoring everyone else, including Native Americans....and as ESPN's casual use of the word "Skins" in their headlines suggest, they aren't interested in making broad-sweeping changes to their own culture or platform - they are only interested in catering to what benefits them...

My problem is the part of the problem they want to address is not the root of the issue. Seriously do you think the points they are referring to are the major issue? It is like the gun debate. Guns are bad... guns kill... no accountability to the person that was behind the trigger. Look up all the mass shooting and a very large percentage had unchecked mental issues.

Guns are bad... guns kill... no accountability to the person that was behind the trigger. Look up all the mass shooting and a very large percentage had unchecked mental issues. Good point mjollnir. Another one I'd like to add to that is: why create new laws and new legislation when we don't even enforce existing processes and legislation? Does anyone remember the mass shooting in Nov 2017 at a church in Sutherland Springs, TX (outside of San Antonio) in which an individual shot and killed 26 people and wounded 20 others before another armed civilian engaged him and ultimately ended up killing him? The perpetrator involved was a former member of the US Air Force who had a prior court martial conviction of domestic violence which should have prohibited him from being able to purchase a fiream since the Air Force would have registered his name in the National Crime Center Database and would have been caught during the background check process. There was as process and law in place that wasn't even followed.... I also look at the situation with the VA - it is and has been in such a dire mess that it seems we as a country can't collectively give simply health care to our veterans. But even before we fixed that, we went ahead and pushed Obamacare through the legislative process - the beginnings of state-owned health care for all Americans, when we can't even fix the existing state-owned health care of our veterans. So before we entertain the idea that new legislation through Congress is going to magically fix all of our problems, I think we should look at what existing processes we have that aren't being followed and start from there.

No police in Minneapolis a reality? The first step has been taken by the City Counsel.... linkMinneapolis City Council members voted unanimously to amend the city's charter Friday to remove the mandate for a police department-- the first step toward disbanding it in the wake of George Floyd's death. The amendment proposes the city replace the police department with a Department of Community Safety and Violence Prevention, “which will have responsibility for public safety services prioritizing a holistic, public health-oriented approach,” a draft of the amendment said. The proposal adds that the director of the new agency would have “non-law-enforcement experience in community safety services, including but not limited to public health and/or restorative justice approaches.” It also suggests setting up a division of licensed peace officers, who would answer to the department's director. Although the amendment received a 12-0 vote from council members, it faces an uphill battle as it makes its way past a policy committee and to the city’s Charter Commission for a formal review, at which point citizens and city officials can also weigh in.
This needs further approval from the Minneapolis Charter Commission and city residents/officials can also weigh-in. It will probably be a the ballot for Minneapolis residents this November. So for any Viking fan living in Minneapolis, the November Election has more implications than just Trump vs Biden...it's Trump vs Biden and then for you specifically it's law & order vs chaos.... Honestly, I never thought I'd live to see a large US city w/ no police department...really shaking my head, especially after the recent examples of what a police-free environment looks like (ie, the "CHAZ/CHOP" zone in Seattle which lasted just a few short weeks).

If sharia law is ever implemented in the USA Muslims will chop off the liberals heads first.... But they are too stupid and blind to see this.

Recent events have caused me to really question this. I know that we're all fallen sinners, but it's never been so clear what this meant....

If Christianity is true and we ARE natural sinners at our core, you’re hitting the nail on the head. And it is one of THE CORE issues underlining a lot of culture and society.
