Ratings Continue to Crater for Protest-Filled NBA

Just take the entire league and ship them over to their financial bubble of the CCP that they cater to and look the other way or ignore all the atrocities they commit.  Its getting more obvious that no one wants to watch this SJW trash and the game itself has sucked for years as indicated by the viewership dropping since 2011(according to Strauss).

The NBA may have come back to TV to play the second half of its COVID-delayed 2020 season, but judging by the dismal ratings, it appears the fans have not.

Ethan Strauss of The Athletic notes that the league’s ratings are coming in well under the pre-COVID break numbers.

Strauss added that the NBA’s numbers have been a “ratings disaster of a season, with the NBA’s most-watched game of last week trailing golf, NASCAR and wrestling.”

Upon its return, the left-wing sports league has veered even farther to the left as nearly every player has kneeled during the national anthem and sported social justice slogans on jersey backs, and the league has launched full force into support for Black Lives Matter at every turn.

'Go woke, go broke' comes to A&E

When the Marxist mob used George Floyd's death as an excuse to ramp up its ongoing war on policing, A&E instantly caved. That proved to be a costly decision. News broke Friday that the cable network has lost almost 50% of its viewers.

When it was founded back in 1984, the Arts & Entertainment Network was going to be a highbrow cable show, focusing on fine arts, documentaries, and dramas, many imported from Britain. A generation of women remembers being introduced to Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy in A&E's Pride and Prejudice. This highbrow fare, though, wasn't bringing in revenue. By 2002, the station had shifted to reality series for younger viewers.

In 2016, A&E created Live PD. The show follows police departments across America, and audiences loved it. According to Wikipedia:

In 2018, a survey by Inscape found Live PD to be the most-watched program among non-live (DVR and VOD) and over-the-top viewers in 2018. The series was credited with having reversed a decline in viewership experienced by A&E since the end of Duck Dynasty; Live PD was among the most-watched programs on cable television. Indeed, Live PD was frequently the most watched cable program on both Friday and Saturday nights.



Ratings for A&E Network have plummeted since it canceled the hit police reality show "Live PD" on June 10, a sign of how much the network relies on law-enforcement programming.

Average prime-time viewership for A&E between June 11 and July 19 was 498,000 people, down 49% from the same period last year, according to data from Nielsen. In the key demographics of adults 18-49 and 25-54, the declines are 55% and 53%, respectively.

The hemorrhage wasn't limited to the cop shows that people like to watch:

A&E's ratings declines go beyond prime time. Total daily average viewership in the weeks since the show was pulled is down 36% from a year earlier, to 319,000 people. In the 18–49 and 25–54 age groups, the declines are even larger: 42% and 46%, respectively.

NHL seems to be doing pretty good according to this article:

NBC Sports announced Tuesday that TV ratings for the qualifying round were up 39% over their regular season average, with an average of 553,000 viewers, despite many games taking place during the daytime and/or on weekdays and being blacked out in favor of local broadcasts in the involved teams’ markets.

Ratings way down for Hard Knocks

The first episode of this year’s NFL training camp reality show drew just 273,000 viewers, according to Austin Karp of Sports Business Journal. That’s a huge decline from the 705,000 who watched the first episode last year, and may be the smallest audience ever for any episode of Hard Knocks.

Stanley Cup playoff viewership continues to trend ahead of last year.

The first week of the Stanley Cup Playoffs averaged 633,000 viewers across NBC Sports’ TV and digital platforms, up 4% from the comparable period of last year’s playoffs (610K). Games on cable have averaged 545,000 (including streaming), the highest at this point since 2017 (548K).

Viewership has increased despite a number of weekday afternoon start times. Excluding those games raises the cable average by 5% to 573,000.

Though the overall trend is positive, NBC hit lows for its primetime games last weekend. Golden Knights-Blackhawks Game 3 averaged a 0.8 rating and 1.25 million viewers on Saturday night, marking the least-watched primetime Stanley Cup game ever on broadcast television. Flyers-Canadiens Game 3 drew a 0.9 and 1.37 million the following night, ranking second.

Prior to this year, no primetime playoff game on broadcast TV had averaged fewer than 1.56 million (Hurricanes-Capitals Game 5 last year). NBC’s first primetime game last postseason — Maple Leafs-Bruins Game 2 — averaged 1.71 million.

Keep in mind that both of NBC’s primetime windows overlapped with competing playoff games on NBCSN — Lightning-Blue Jackets Game 3 on Saturday (0.34, 579K) and Golden Knights-Blackhawks Game 4 on Sunday (0.42, 717K).

In other action, NBC averaged a 0.8 (+5%) and 1.21 million (+2%) for Bruins-Hurricanes Game 3 Saturday afternoon. Game 4 of the series averaged 700,000 viewers on NBCSN Monday night (+11%).

Earlier Monday, Colorado’s 7-1 blowout of Arizona averaged 488,000. The 5:30 PM ET start outdrew all-but-one late night window in this year’s playoffs (Blackhawks-Golden Knights Game 1: 489K).

They never should have resigned this guy.  He thinks just because he puts on a football uniform people care what he stands for...if he was just a common non-athlete chances are quite high nobody would even know who he was, let alone care about what he stands for.  Just shut-up Anthony and make a play once in awhile.
