Source: The #Raiders are going to sign FA TE Jared Cook. A huge addition for QB Derek Carr and their offense.

So far with all that has transpired this off season the one thing that makes me question Rick the most is even considering that fat turd lacy...... I'm still surprised that the Seahawks actually put in a weight clause in his contract. I mean, being in shape and making weight shouldn't even be an issue for NFL players. I know players aren't in "football shape" when they show up to camp because they haven't taken hits, but everyone should be in great, physical condition (for their position anyway - I know OL and DL aren't going to be "cut" so to speak). We're talking about the best of the best when it comes to football and there shouldn't be any additional, contractual motivation to get in shape - it should be a given for all professional athletes. The following quote from Lacy (from Jan 2016) is very telling to me: " I think what he (Rodgers) is getting at is if I'm going to be involved in the passing game this year, and if I want to be a better player, then it might not be a bad idea to, just get a little more agile," Lacy said, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. " I mean, I don't have to. It would just make you better as a player." www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/mike-mccarthy-on-eddie-lacys-weight-issues-hes-got-a-lot-of-work-to-do/Lacy said "I don't have to"? LOL. Of course you don't have to, but if you want to be any good....if you want to use the athletic abilities you were given and hone them...if you want to be any good and strive to help your team win... That quote just screamed "lazy", "unmotivated", and totally not out to better himself for the betterment of the team or trying to win a championship.

Jared Cook's first year compensation of $5m (base salary, roster bonus) is fully guaranteed, source said.

With Lacy's history of weight issues...would you really not expect a weight clause in his contract?

I guess besides the obvious...... just another reason why we should have drafted Derek Carr

Derek Carr, as he was with the signing of Cordarrelle Patterson, was heavily involved in recruiting Cook, sources said.
