It would mean the end.  AD was a great player for the Vikings...but his time has come and gone.  We'll draft another RB in the deep RB class and be good to go with Murray, McKinnon and the rookie.  McKinnon could be expendable next year depending on the rookie.

I would prefer to draft a back, but if they're signing a FA, it better be Murray. Best thing about a back signing here? It means Adrian won't.

Watching the highlights of his 296 vs SD really made me miss the good ole days. They are long gone and never to return...

The good thing about Murray is that he can also run short yardage situations....he can get that 3rd and 1, as well as pass block and catch the ball out of the backfield pretty well. Murray isn't a "home run" type of threat, meaning if he makes it to the 2nd level, he may get caught from behind from fast LB's or DB's....and losing a playmaker like Patterson does hurt a bit, but hopefullly McKinnon can fill that role, as well as the rookie RB (as long as it's not Perine or Foreman or a "bigger" back). That's where an X-factor like Mixon would be so beneficial - someone who can do it all on offense AND has the ability to return kicks.

Not sure I am a big fan of Murray. I almost think bringing these guys in signals the end of the AP era unless it's some sort of negotiating tactic.

Looking his numbers not sure I am either unless its a replacement for Asiata and they are drafting a RB that will be the main back.

Murray took 44% of his carries from the gun last year, averaged a respectable 4.2YPC (wish the Vikings RBs had that Oline to run behind)
