I keep seeing 5 for $45m on VF and PT, no mention of what's guaranteed. I just keep seeing we spent $9m on Reiff and $6m on Remmers so we have $24m remaining.

According to Tom they are not filed yet
Tom PelisseroVerified account @tompelissero
#Vikings committed to invest in O-line and did. Riley Reiff's contract still not filed, but heard he got more than Matt Kalil with #Panthers

First reaction is "yikes"....yes, it's an upgrade over what we have, but man, what a cost....this really does hinder the rest of our free agency, too...
It's bargain basement shopping the rest of the way...

Ben Goessling @goesslingespn
Reiff, Remmers deals have big sticker prices, but they're Vikings' typical pay-as-you-go deals. They should have more than $20M in cap left.

Although I like the versatility that Reiff has, still would have been nice to get a more solid, top-end LT like Whitworth...
Wondering what kinda money the Jets gave Beachum...

I like that deal, if it is essentially a 2 year 26 mill, but really locks him in with the Vikes for 5 years if he is worth it. Same with Remmers. May not be studs at the positions they're going to be asked to play, but they're still a huge upgrade and now the Vikes can go into the draft without their hands tied behind their back and one leg cut off, as it would've been before. Now they can move up and down and make value picks instead of dire need picks.

If we draft a couple interior guys this year when we don't have a 1st and the tackle class is not deep to begin with, we can take one or two tackles higher in the draft next year. If we do draft a couple guys at tackle maybe one of these guys can slide inside. However it goes it can make for good competition at all line positions over the next few years. Like you said it also gives us some freedom to move around or pick at another position if a stud drops to us.

Like you said it also gives us some freedom to move around or pick at another position if a stud drops to us. Yep, that is what I've been saying. I'm looking at Mike McGlinchey next year in 1. Slide in Reiff to OG (or RT if Remmers sucks) and you improved the OL drastically without wasting any picks on OL this year in a bad OL draft. If Ramczyk, Bolles or Lamp slide I'd draft them, but that's about it. 2 pure LT type players, and one guy that I view as a stud that could play any position on the OL. People that have followed my comments on the draft throughout the years know that I am always all-in on getting a stud OL. Going clear back to Joe Thomas vs Adrian (I know he was gone, but he was absolutely my pick in that draft) and then I would've taken Joe Staley too in addition to Joe Thomas in that same draft if I could've (I would've traded Mount Thug). Then Alex Mack (went right before Harvin if I recall correctly), Marshall Yanda, Zach Martin, Riley Reiff, Jared Veldheer (outstanding value in 3), Jason Spriggs (high ceiling, huge future need position as the Vikes finally realized this year, a year too late), Cody Whitehair, RYAN Kalil, Nate The Great Solder over Ponder, Brandon Scherff (long gone), Nick Mangold, David DeCastro, Taylor Lewan (gone), D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Ali Marpet, and my favorite prospect Lane Johnson (who was of course long gone) to name some off the top of my head. Take one whenever you see them available, 1 every year or so unless you have a pressing need, and you'd field a great OL and you wouldn't have to pay your RB 12 million dollars a year to field a quality rushing attack and your QB wouldn't get killed either. Every other year or so in rounds 1-3 that is.
