News broke today that per a 104-page audit of the Mississippi Department of Human Services, former Packers/Jets/Vikings NFL QB Brett Favre garnered $1.1 million for speeches he did not show up for ( link). The Clarion Ledger’s Luke Ramseth reported that money intended to help low-income people in Mississippi was used to pay Favre, among other things. Favre’s company, Favre Enterprises, was paid by the Mississippi Community Education Center for appearances that, according to auditors, Favre did not speak at nor was he present for. They wrote that the amount of money made by Favre was “unreasonable.”If you thought someone like Bill Clinton was low,at least he actually gave a speech in Moscow before he cashed in the $500k check from a Russian investment bank...Favre allegedly collected twice as much and didn't do anything... What's a matter Brett? Wrangler and Copper Fit not paying you enough?

Clintons stole things from White House upon leaving. Crooks but worse, stealing our heritage.

I agree in principle with your statement, uncle, but I do have to consider the fact 1.1 mil from a US source doesn't stink as bad as 500K from the Russians. I have to wonder what in TOTAL the Russians got for their $500K besides the speech.

Quick update on this story: Former NFL QB Brett Favre is repaying $1.1 million in welfare money that he received for multiple speeches he did not show up to deliver, the Mississippi state auditor said Wednesday. ( link) In a Facebook post Wednesday night, Favre said he didn't know the payments he received came from welfare funds and noted his charity had provided millions of dollars to underprivileged children in his home state of Mississippi and Wisconsin, where he played the bulk of his Hall of Fame career with the Green Bay Packers.
"My agent is often approached by different products or brands for me to appear in one way or another. This request was no different, and I did numerous ads for Family First,'' Favre wrote.
"I have never received moneys for obligations I didn't meet. To reiterate Auditors White's statement, I was unaware that the money being dispensed was paid for out of funds not intended for that purpose, and because of that I am refunding the full amount back to the state of Mississippi.

Think we should pump the breaks on the public hanging until we actually know what exactly happened(we're not the left). These guys like him have people that handle where he needs to be and how he is paid. I have a hard time believing he would do that for what are basically pennies to him.
As for comparing him to Clinton, we can talk whne Brett sells military secrets to the Chinese, invites drug dealers into the oval office, and has dozens of friends have bad accidents.
