Nice gun! I just traded one for a S&W 44 mag revolver. I haven't hunted in years and didn't need it any longer. I haven't used it yet but next year when I head up north to go hunting I am going to skip rifle season and try muzzle loader. After the rut but the number of hunters won't be as great and I figured I would give it a shot(literally ). I have bow and rifle hunted(white tail) for years so why not muzzle. I don't know a lot about them except they are miles better than the muzzle loaders with ball ammo I shot as a kid. It was my late fathers and he said they were good out to 150 yards or more. He shot expert in the Army so I don't know how that would hold up for me, Get a bullet drop compensator scope if you can. I always liked the solitude of bow hunting. Couldn't begin to count the hours practicing and sitting in my stand by I loved all of it.

Couldn't begin to count the hours practicing and sitting in my stand by I loved all of it. I really like bow hunting as well. The hours of practice(I robin hooded aluminum arrows twice), the scouting and the peacefulness of being up in a tree and enjoying nature. Haven't done it in a while but I miss it. My dad is a big gun guy and has hunted muzzle loader for quite a few years, while he is a much better shot than I am he said at 100 yards these muzzle loaders are pretty good and very consistent. Which for the country I usually hunt thats plenty of distance.

Have you guys done any prairie dog hunting? Yeah you can't eat them, but they can challenge your marksmanship. 500+ yards with a crosswind will get your juices flowing. When I go out with my brother we are a team with a spotter and a shooter. Works well. Like they say in the Patriot...aim small, miss small. I love shooting shit. Prairie dogs like most liberals are fine targets. No problem shooting either. Yes not PC. Fuckem. They don't love us either.

No and at 500 yards not sure it would be worth my time Closest I have come is prong horn in Montana, while not as small as a prairie dog those bastards got springs in their legs and when they aren't bouncing they are moving pretty damn fast. Had to practice a few times before I got one of those little bastards.

I bought a Remington 700 BDL 22-250 with the Bull barrel from an old man in the mid 70’s (Still have it) that thing is a Varmit Killing Machine! fast and accurate as anything I have. In the late 70’s my Cousin and I used to sneak up in the lookout tower on the Antietam battlefield and shoot groundhogs out of it. You can see for miles! Nothing better than blasting groundhogs at 500+ yards! I had a 440 Roadrunner at the time, can’t tell you how many times we’d see a park ranger vehicle coming run down jump in my car and take off! I outran many park rangers

I don't know how things are in your area but how many of these can you actually purchase? Stock at sporting goods stores is really low around here.

Totally empty and I can’t buy for awhile going to need to get some odd jobs to justify not spending our family money on all this 😂 But some of these places let you buy online and they ship to a store near you and do all the paper work with them.

Gun stocks and associates aren’t going down. Buy buy buy... and again if you think you have enough buy some more....
