Interesting nugget from that article:
However, there seemed to be a stronger sentiment that Mixon could follow the model set by Tyreek Hill, who was picked in the fifth round by the Chiefs because the Kansas City organization felt they did their diligence and had a system in place to support Hill.
I've been comparing T Hill to Mixon for a while, but I didn't know KC felt they had a system in place to support Hill. The question is: does the Viking's organization? Some fans might say yes and point to the Viking's supporting Peterson during his off-field "situation", and even though Peterson was a much higher-profile player than Hill, I still personally feel that the Viking's organization kind of fumbled and botched their attempts at supporting/handling the Peterson "situation". So I really do question whether the Vikings can bring in and handle players with off-field "baggage".
Then again, when it comes to teams like the Patriots who typically bring in anybody as long as you buy-in to the system, put your head down and produce, perhaps that's the only "system" that is needed - just come here, work hard and produce, and if you don't and make waves off the field, then there's the door.

IF you get a guy outside of the first round and have to kick him to the curb it hurts for the sunk cost of the pick but not usually to bad cap wise. I think its worth the risk assuming no other big issues hiding in the background. This team seems to be a high character team and it may be the right atmosphere for him if he's not a basket case.
