Chris Tomasson @christomasson
Source said possibility #Vikings show interest in QB Nick Foles if $6.75M option as expected not picked up by Thurs. Had interest last year.

No, it doesn't speak well for Teddy's leg... But I think Foles would be a good backup- IF he comes cheap enough.

Teddy was ruled out or 2017 a few months ago.
TB is old news at this point. Hopefully he can have full mobility and live a normal life. Anyone speaking of Bridgewater playing for the Vikings in 2017 is delusional. The better question is whether TB will EVER play again.
Nick Foles would be a great back up. I would love to go into 2017 with Bradford, Foles and Heinicke as our QBs.

Let's face it: it doesn't matter who's QB'ing in 2017 because no one will bode well behind our OL right now unless we bring in some help.

I have a feeling that the team is saying all the right things on Teddy, trying to get him in to his 5th season so that he is eligible for players benefits like they did last year with Mike Harris,

All they have to do is pick up his option in about 2 months.

Ben Goessling @goesslingespn 15h
Vikings have checked in on Nick Foles, but source said nothing substantive at this point. Foles played for Pat Shurmur in Philadelphia.

Everything I've read and heard(which admittedly isn't a ton).... tells me Teddy's knees do not bode well for him to play football again. He's young and may return as I'm sure he's getting the best care... his body will heal... but will his mind be willing to play the game too?

Ive seen this reported from various sources. Apparently the Vikings have walked that back a bit, but it seems very certain TB wont be playing for the Vikings in 2017 and that 2018 is the most likely the earliest TB can potentially return.

OK, same Jason Cole story from before. I find it hard to believe anybody-dr's, trainer, coaches, or GM would be ruling him out for the whole season in January. I took this report with as big a grain of salt as the reports he was running, cutting, and throwing. They are opposite ends of the spectrum in his recovery and basically we know what we knew before-nothing. I don't really understand the refusal to discuss his recovery other than to remove any public pressure to get him back on the field or to increase Bradford's perceived importance to the team for trade value. Those are the only to things that they would lead them to be so closed mouth about his recover/rehab that I can think of. I'm certain it's the former.

So the Vikings are being quiet about TB's injury in order to increase Bradford's "perceived" trade value? So the Vikings are trying to increase Bradford's value to trade him and then start........Bridgewater? Lol If not TB, who?
Bradford is a better QB than Bridgewater when TB was actually healthy. Everything I have seen points to TB not being even close to coming back for 2017. Many doubt he will ever play again. I am pretty sure the Vikings are trying to relieve pressure on TB to come back right away and want him to just focus on his recovery, rather than trying to play football in 2017.

I said there were only two reasons to be so quite about his progress or lack thereof that I could think of. I specifically said the trade value was not likely.
Have any other reasons they would be so tight lipped about hi progress. He seems to be the one behind the couple reports/videos of him working out not the team and they were quickly removed and poo-pooed. Just strange, why its so top secret?
