to even attempt to get into football this season. I think they may have finally ripped the heart out of me.

agreed. I was so looking forward to sports to return too. MLB opening day, turn on the yankee game. Everyone kneeling. Turn off the yankee game. No mlb for me this year. Now hockey resumes this weekend and 1 guy kneels so far that I can see. OK that's not so bad. My Devils are out of this tourney but at least its something. If 1 or 2 guys kneel here and there I cant fault the team.

The funny thing is you tune into sports but only notice and talk about the kneeling ones. Hilarious.

You are right I have an agenda. I watch sports to escape politics and other bullshit. When the games start that way its a turn off.Watching privileged athletes kneel at our flag, disrespecting the many who died just so they could kneel on that flag ruins it. I don't care if you interpret it differently. That is what the kneeling means to me. Truth be told if you were the one starting this topic I probably would not have even posted here because I just don't like you. I will reply to you once. There is nothing more for me to debate.

The only two sports I'm into at the moment are golf and soccer, and since European Club League seasons have ended, I'm a bit less into soccer now (I'll watch a little MLS here and there)...
The golf has been decent since they returned, although the scoring at the regular weekly tournaments (non-majors, non-World Golf Championships) has been way too high for my liking...
Everything else?
- NFL? It won't be a real season with players dropping like flies right and left...Super Bowl winner will have an asterisk - NBA? Didn't care before and care less now (if that's even possible)... - MLB? Turned it on once, turned it right off - just can't get into it.... - NHL? Haven't turned it on yet...really only get into playoff hockey anyway.... - NASCAR? Stopped watching 10+ yrs ago (other than Daytona 500) when racin' wasn't racin' anymore and it's certainly not "racing" now.. - Other motor sports (Indy...F1, etc); nope
So for me when it comes to sport-viewing on TV, it's golf and occasionally soccer and that's about it....

Uncle, You hit the nail on the head! The politics injected at such a high level into the game is bad, then add the asterisk season and its like pre-season games to me. You watch, this will be "our" we get it all together!!! you all know we just HAVE to put together a season for the ages, excepting the asterisk of course....we beat a Mahommes-less KC team for the SB.

The NFL/Networks have refused for years to televise the good Christian NFL players who gather at mid-field after every game to pray and honor God. I think they're getting what they asked for now. Think of the irony. Men honoring God is "offensive." Men honoring a secular group that stands for unrest and violence is to be embraced. I feel sorry for our once great Country, at least this growing part of it.

I will not watch any sport the allows the names of "victims" on their helmets and disrespect the flag I spent 3 years in war for. They can kiss my wrinkled old white butt. I wonder how many white people have the balls to kneel before that ridiculous so-called "Black National Anthem" when it is played? Maybe they would get the "respect" they demand if they went out and EARNED it instead of demanding it by threat of violence.

Personally you can call me off my rocker. Probably so... I have said for 2 years or so. The NFL will not be around in 20 years, I gave it 20. But hard to argue when attendance, and dollars are so high..
But now people are getting fed up. No one expected COVID, are the tv networks going to continue the big dollars, how many fans are getting fed up with the kneeling.
But until the season ticket holders cancel there tickets up instead of just opening mouth.many are all talk.
Look how many here are talking about getting fed up. But when does it get to the point it’s more than just talk

I meanwhile really hope this "season" gets washed down the drain. It should collapse. It is way better than going on somehow.

Look how many here are talking about getting fed up. But when does it get to the point it’s more than just talk Good question 52...both MLB and NBA have drawn TV viewers in their initial returns: Baseball Draws Strong TV Ratings in Opening Week Amid Uncertainty Over Season ( link) Turner Sports’ NBA return doubleheader games drew an average of 2.9 million viewers ( link) Can they sustain those ratings throughout their limited and fanless seasons is the next question...I have no doubt that Wk 1 of the NFL season will draw viewers, but I'm wondering if that will hold considering most teams will be without some key players that have opted out of playing due to COVID and then some key players will test positive throughout the season which will tilt certain matchups one way, potentially causing fans to tune-out...

Uncle I am also,thinking.
How did these new off season leagues did with crowds, were they large at the start because of the newness, but slow down after a game or two, NFL may be a little different. But I am speaking for myself. Finding it a little hard at this point. With the uncertainties...I bam looking at this board alone,80% is political based,,.. is it even considered a football forum today. During a normal season it would be more football discussion. It’s August and we just signed our draft picks, how much discussions
My point isn’t on this forum. It’s the interest in football this year especially because of the pandemic
