Congrats WisconsinVike enjoy your free time that you earned over your long career. Did you ever get another dog? No dog yet, but now that I'm retired that's going to be my #1 priority, just have to decide if I want to stay in Rottweiler mode or try something different once.
What ever breed it turns out to be it will be a "substantial" dog.
I miss going on walks without my "muscle"
Good move, I was hoping you were going that direction

Congratulations Wisconsin!
I'm not close but from what I've heard from others who have retired is to stay active in whatever you do...so many people have stated that when you're mind and body are inactive for long periods of time (meaning days/weeks/months of not doing much, not having a job to do, or something to keep your focused and "sharp"), that's when old age really starts creeping-in and the body starts to turn itself off....

As somebody reporting from the "other side," I certainly agree with the body part. That said, my mind is in much better shape today than when I left Megacorp. Megacorp was a mind and soul sucking machine that, if taken in too large of doses, made a person more stupid every day. I can't imagine what kind of "noise" is being generated these days around Covid and the new "social awareness" (sorry, I can't come up with a better PG rated reference than that).
