what's your pleasant anticipation level for the new season right now form 0 (none) to 10 (enthusiastic)?
Mine: 2
Under normal circumstances it would be around 8 or 9 these days....
I am mentally trying to prepare for a non-NFL-winter......

Seven..I look at it as a rebuild, maybe not a ful rebuild, but another year away.

Between the pandering of the NFL and the never ending cycle of the Vikings not winning a Superbowl they can wait until next year.

Yeah, I'm with P1. I wish I was more excited but the never ending letdowns (so many in such painful ways) and all the politics of disrespect has really worn on me.

I'm wavering between a 1 and a 2. I've cancelled my NFL Game Pass for the upcoming year just the other day. I'm sick of the disrespect,
I'm really sick of the NFL's ass kissing mentality under the premise of genuine concern. Their only real concern is their bottom line and they'll say and do anything to protect it.
Fuck the NFL, fuck the kneelers, and fuck the "special national anthem". I no longer seriously care what happens to this team, the league, the players, and a large portion of the fans. I'll casually follow the sport from time to time - it will no longer be the #1 interest in my life. I will never pay for anything NFL related again in my lifetime - if I can watch it for free, I might - if not, oh well I said this years ago on the "other" site after another disappointing Vikings season -
"I'm here for the people, not the team" - that hasn't changed

I'll say this. If they start the season with the racist and divisive "Black National Anthem" with everyone standing, then take a knee for the National Anthem. I will gather up all my NFL "stuff" and have a bon fire. I will film it and post it everywhere I can find.

But I will say, I’ll still hang out here with my friends you guys are 10. So by default I’ll read about and talk about it just from the sidelines so to speak. I’ll dig up some stat tweets. I’ll argue based on old info. But I won’t watch nor attend. Sundays will be my golfing day from now on.

I'm torn because I have a son that really wants to watch the games and I hate that he may have those memories taken from him. He's only 7 so it's tough explaining as to why we wouldn't be watching without causing him to have some anger. On the other hand I'm so disgusted I don't know if I can stomach watching regardless of what I said above.
I can't say which way I'll be going just yet, but I won't be doing FF for sure. I won't be buying anything NFL/NBA either.

If our boycott works (it will but might take a year) then you/we will get them back. So take Sundays and make it his day. Have him make up a list of things he wants to do on Sundays and then you can both go do. Golf at a 9 hole 3 par. I used to do this my kids loved it! Make a train platform. Buy a sheet of plywood and all the stuff fo make scenery and then lay tracks and stuff. I made one with my son, we left the very middle open/flat and placed the xmas tree on it every year. Kids love trains. You can a lot with this. Play board games. Tell him for 3 hours each Sun its you and him time. Checkers is easy to teach. What I did with my son is we each started with all 12. Every time I won then I had to start with 1 less next time. This was mainly to even up the game. I always tried never not tried so having less made it harder and harder. I got down to 3 checkers to start at first. Over time built it up to 8 and then 10 and finally no handicap. Then we moved on to chess. Go out and throw a baseball or kick a ball. Go to local and play BB court or tennis. I could go on and on - but those other events left more memories.

Watching the puck nearly miss all the time gives be anxiety. However, I may be open to giving it another try.

He loves football though so I'm not sure if he'll go with a sub too easily. He still talks about the time I was launching him in the air after the Miracle.

It's not so much the football he loves but spending time with you.
