In my shop that I work in just in the last 2 weeks my boss has had it and 5 workers from the other crew all tested positive with one guy @28 years old getting sick for 3-4 days. My boss @35 had it for 2 days of flu like symptoms then a couple days of nausea. So yeah it's there but unless you are over 60 with other conditions your chance of dying is less than 1%.

I am a little more cautious for reasons I mentioned before, age-68, Had cancer, have Parkinson’s, had a quad bypass, and 60% disability asbestos in lungs. Fit all high risk categories. Been wearing a mask for that reason, and mandated. But hate it. Do away with the mandate even at high risk I am going to let up. my grandson just turned 21. Had his birthday get together, Daughter was tested for covid. But didn’t stop me or wife from being there. Family.... luckily she tested negative. but I still don’t believe it’s any worse than the flu. Neither is good if one gets it.Don’t want either one. But as Gopher said.like 99% survive COVID, is the flu any worse/better? my sister and husband are in covid panic. Stopped all there trips they took regularly. Not me. I am not giving up on life.

"Not me. I am not giving up on life."
Great attitude 52. My parents are elderly, but still attend grandkids' events. They say life isn't worth being locked down in fear, and are prepared for the consequences if they happen to catch the China Virus.

Great idea. Why didn't Trump think of that? Wait a minute, he did. Fuck all you old bastards. Hell yeah. Just hope I never get old, without insurance.

Just hope I am not a 1 percenter. If I am not, then fuck you guys. If those 3.3 million have just 4 people who love them and care about them, how many people is that? Who cares, fuck them too.

Are they really? Are you prepared? Are your children? What will you say to them if the worst happens? Will you tell them it was God's will?

Are they really? Are you prepared? Are your children? What will you say to them if the worst happens? Will you tell them it was God's will? Are they really? - They aren't stupid (which is how your response comes across). They have made the choice to attend events and enjoy life as much as possible, while using common sense measures to be safe. So I would have to say YES.
Are you prepared? - YES
Are your children? What will you say to them if the worst happens? - Given Kung Flu's relatively low risk to children, I'm frankly more worried about them getting in a car accident than becoming seriously ill from the Covid.
Will you tell them it was God's will? - YES, and that with choices there are consequences. But it's not like we are all walking around coughing at each other. Sometimes things happen that are out of our control.
It's not as if we out here in hick land don't understand the risks of the virus, and who the most vulnerable are, but some of us refuse to give up all our freedoms, happiness, and livelihood to live locked in the basement in fear.
