For the $10 challenge above, I'm going with:
$4 on Thuney - that fixes LG $4 on Jones - fixes DL (3T) $1 on Boston - that helps Harris' loss $1 on Pierce - helps w/ Linval loss (run stuffer)

Then NFL quietly reinstated former Bengals/Raiders LB Vontaze Burfict last month, as reported/confirmed only today - linkI know this won't be a popular opinion, but I'm wondering if the Vikes would kick the tires since he's a UFA. We're definitely all set with Kendricks and Barr, but with the possibility of Barr rushing more w/ Capers here, I'm wondering if we have room for Burfict on rushing downs as a better run-stuffer. It seems Burfict has been in the league for a long time, but he's only 29 and may have some gas left in the tank if (and obviously this is a huge IF) he can keep himself on the field during the season. He's definitely not getting anything with a bunch of guaranteed money and if someone gives him a shot in 2020, it'll certainly be an incentive-laden deal. And before you scoff at signing Burfict, keep in mind that the Vikes need to scour the free agency landscape for low-cost/high-risk/high-reward type of players like Burfict given our cap situation. Zimmer was able to get the best out of Burfict early in his career at Cincinnati...and if Burfict truly wants to stay on the field in the NFL (and not be relegated to the XFL for professional football), then perhaps he can return to the man who gave him a shot in the NFL... A 6-man LB roster entering the 2020 season of Kendricks, Barr, Wilson (if he comes back; he's a RFA), Burfict, Gedeon and a 2020 mid-Rd rookie (basically the next Cameron Smith) would be solid.

I am at the point I’d sign the devil himself if it got us a trophy. Done with the nice guy roster bring in guys like this cheaply and lets go win it!!

From the "buzz" at The Combine (from Tony Pauline at Pro Football Network): linkCBA negotiations slowing down free agency? As general managers await details of the new CBA, assuming there is indeed a new CBA, team operations across the league have slowed. This evening I’ve learned the slow down of operations has extended to contract offerings of restricted free agents and players expected to be tendered. Sources tell me they also expect free agent talk at the Combine to be lighter than usual until such time that teams have a better idea of what the future holds.

More combine "buzz" from Tony Pauline / Ben Allbright at Pro Football Network (just posting the relevant ones): link- A QB trade on the horizon? Sources tell Ben Allbright that the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals have had discussions regarding Andy Dalton. A little over a week ago, Allbright had reported that the Bears were quietly interested in the likes of Derek Carr and Dalton. If/When another QB is brought in, the expectation is that Trubisky would enter training camp as the starter but would be on a short leash if he won the starting job. For reference as to how the situation may play out, think of the Tennessee Titans and the Marcus Mariota/Ryan Tannehill situation.- Thuney and Conklin on the move? Two free agent offensive linemen are in huge demand and have created a big market for themselves during discussions at the combine. The first would be soon to be former New England Patriots guard Joe Thuney, as almost two dozen teams (20 to be exact) are showing interest in his services. The belief is Thuney will get a lot more money than initially expected as there will be a bidding war to sign him.
The other is Jack Conklin, who’s also expected to sign a huge contract. The offensive line needy New York Jets are in hot pursuit of Conklin – I have confirmed that. If the Jets don’t land Conklin, their back-up plan could include Halapoulivaati Vaitai of the Philadelphia Eagles, who general manager Joe Douglas is familiar with. Vaitai is a versatile offensive lineman that’s played several positions for the Eagles and as someone from the organization told me he can be a “solid starting right or left tackle” in the NFL.For any Vikings fans wishing to sign one of the big free agent OL prospects, well...keep wishing... Also, the Bears wanting to trade for Andy Dalton? Yes please!

It happens every, stinking, year!! One or two "top" OL FAs get huge contracts. Many never come close to earning them. For every Hutch, there are two dozen that disappear. It wasn't but a few years ago that Carolina way overpaid for Kalil. I think the Texans did the same with Kalil after Carolina gave up on him. It's simple folks....Draft OL early and often!!! It's not "one way," it's the ONLY WAY (damnit!).
