Floyd still VERY much on #Vikings radar. Hope it happens soon so I can stop bringing it up on my podcast, @kstp, and @1500espn!

Hear Zim and Rick have paid a visit to Floyd. Sounds like Skins another possibility but source says “I’m hearing Vikes.” We’ll see.

He is decent.

He can be good. He could also flame out if he doesn't get some things in order. Could be a good pickup if he were to commit himself.

I was for the Vikes bringing him in as a reclemation project...he could earn another decent payday with another solid season and if he stays clean....and we have an outside WR spot to compete w/ Treadwell where if he worked hard, he could very well earn that spot...

Here's my issues with this rumor:

1) Floyd will be under house arrest in Arizona until mid-June meaning he will miss offseason activities
2) He was a healthy scratch for the AFC Championship game and Superbowl in favor of a rookie...meaning the Pats weren't all that enamored in him
3) Dude fell asleep at an intersection after a night of drinking and lacked any remorse at first. That led to Arizona cutting him. He has since sounded remorseful...likely because his agent told him to. Combine that with the angry and taunting tweets to Cardinals fans because they were upset he ended up with a Superbowl ring...demonstrates a distinct lack of self awareness.
4) Between this aggravated DUI and the one at ND...both were extremely high BAC....he's looking at 2 game suspension minimum...and likely 4.

It may be that bringing him back home would be the best thing on a heavily incentivized deal...but I still have the above issues.

If the Vikings do sign him, to me that is a serious vote of no confidence in Treadwell because he and Floyd are pretty much the same guy from a football standpoint.

That comes down to Zimmer and Rick doing their due diligence and weighing the risk.  IF he has to blow into a tube multiple times a day and he's in treatment he may get the clarity to see that his situation is actually not what he thought it was and it's time to grow up. 

We had a reclamation project go fairly well for us many years ago, it's about time we start catching breaks like that again.
