It sounds like DE Young, out of OSU; may very well return for his final year of college. If true, from a pure monetary/draftability standpoint it doesn't make sense. Young would be the first non-QB player taken off the board for sure and at worst he'd be a Top 10 pick if he messes up his pre-Draft workouts (Combine, Pro Day, etc). If it's true, then his decision must be about something other than increasing draft stock or needing money because his stock won't get any higher than it is right now. He was in the Heisman conversation and that's not easy for defensive players in this offensive / spread-option era.... |

No they originally turned him down in high school as he literally begged for a scholarship, but Pelini and OC Beck turned him down for a guy from overseas that was playing JV ball in Texas. That QB went on to play TE at North Texas and ironically the OC that didn't want him ended his QB coach at Ohio St. Then Frost turned him down too. There is a reason Nebraska has sucked the last 20 years, but look for that change in the near future.
