Its on
The 2019 Presidents Cup is finally here, and playing captain Tiger Woods is leading things off with his fourball partner Justin Thomas during opening-day action on Thursday (Wednesday here in the United States). That duo is taking on Joaquin Niemann and Marc Leishman in the first of five matches at Royal Melbourne, all of which are now off and running on a fast and furious course. The heavily-favored American squad should roll for the eighth-straight Presidents Cup, but if they do, it won't be without distraction. Patrick Reed -- playing with Webb Simpson on Day 1 -- has been a lightning rod for criticism (by the International team) and support (by his own team) following a sketchy rules incident at last week's Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas. The result should be great drama for all four days of this Presidents Cup at one of the best courses on the planet with a raucous home Australian crowd ready to roll.

Tiger pretty much won his match by himself...
The only problem? He and Justin Thomas might be the only players who win....the US is in danger of dropping 4 out of the first 5 matches...
The "Big Easy" Ernie Els really crafted his 1st rd partners nicely....

What the heck is goin' on w/ the US? It's like they forgot how to putt in bigtime situations...
One thing that I've noticed w/ this post-Tiger generation of US golfers is that other than Koepka, they're all "pansies" when it comes to bigtime putting situations and they play most on "lush" US courses with similar conditions. When you think of the UK or international golfers on the European Tour, they're playing all over the world on different types of courses - firm, wooded, links-style, crappy, etc....so in Australia this week the greens are like concrete and it's the opposite of the lush, Masters-like or TCP Sawgrass Bermuda stuff they're used too....so the International golfers have adapted and the non-Tiger and non-Koepka guys (like Fowler, Woodland, Dustin Johnson) have basically continued their ways of bowing out during the big moment....

15.5 pts needed to win the Cup.
Present score 6.5 (Int) to 3.5 (US).
One big day (by US) on either Sat or Sun makes it close. No need to panic/self-flagellate.
US has tons o fire-power. Far from over.

The end of Day 2 was great....the US were down all 5 matches at aroud the start of the Back 9 and they were able to pull out a few of them with birdie putts on 2 of them - Woods' partner Justin Thomas nailed a 20 footer to win their match on the 18th and right before that P Cantley drained a 15 footer on the 18th to win their match...and Rickie and his partner were able to scratch out a draw when they were down 3 or 4 holes on the 14th or 15th...
US definitely has the momentum heading into Day 3....
Also, primetime golf is great during the week...

We have more of the best golfers in the world by far but these team events almost always go south for us. Not sure why?

Never heard that theory before, how so....or just joking? US plays on nice lusher greens. Overseas are less lush and faster. Hazards tougher overseas too, less wiggle room

US making comeback!
Tiger wins his match and now has most wins in Presidents Cup history.
11 matches still going. US leads lots of them
