I was living in the Bay Area for 3 years during all this. There things the local fans know. Kap didn’t like Harbough. Harbough is a tough coach but he designed an O that got the best out of Kaps skill set. In the end one of them needed to go. They chose Kap. After their great season Kap was making the talk show circuit, doing endless interviews and modeling for magazine covers. He wasn’t there during the off season and missed an OTA (for a magazine cover shoot?). Fans were very pissed when he stunk it up the next year with Harbough no longer there to help him look good. Then he turned down the contract extension to try to get more money on the FA market
That’s how we got to this point. Well, along with some kneeling issues.

Each side is to blame and no one is going to change opinions at this point. Both sides are grandstanding. That's today's America. Had you done at you job what he did and more so performed as poorly do you think you would have a job>

Just when NFL ratings are recovering. I will boycott any team he ever plays on or against if any are dumb enough to hire him. XFL looking good about now So shall we count you among those who are opposed to freedom of speech? Freedom of Speech is fine. Freedom of the consequence is also just as fine.

Look both sides one a millionaire and one a billionaire neither of them any better then the other. I could make counter point good and bad for each.

No offense smoked. I believe this thing got bigger and worse then it needed to be because it got made about Trump vs Kap. Should have been Kap vs league. However league wanted to play both sides so it just got deeper. Now Kap won't let it go obviously so I hope this doesn't become a Trump thing again so Kap can just be forgotten or at least ignored.

I think Sun is referring to when Trump stepped in and made his get them sumbitches off the field rant to get his crowd amped. Then you referenced a twit of Trump that looks like it could start stuff up again. Maybe not...

I guess I'm confused why anybody would actually hire Kaep at this point? At his best..he was a poor man's version of RG3 who is now a back up. He's been away from the game almost 3 years. At best, somebody would offer vet minimum as a back up and Kaep has made it abundantly clear that he won't work for that. He told the AAF he wanted $20M per year and he's certainly not going to command that. NFL teams want their back ups to be good team guys who don't seek the spotlight unless called on..guys like Mannion or Keenum. Does that sound like Kaep? Whoever makes an offer is bound to have it thrown in their face that they are offering slave wages..etc. Why would anybody want to get involved in that for an aging QB who's hasn't played a down in a long time?

Double edge sword. He's a marketing machine as well as a liability. I don't know if he wants to play any more then the NFL wants him to play. I think the NFL fd up and they know they will likely get sued again. The line in the sand for both sides is pretty deep. If he truly wants to play and a team puts in a quality offer and he declines like has happened I believe his lawyers are in his ear trying to get him a huge NFL payday without lacing them up. I'm talking 40 to 60 mill. I think their angle is to force top QB pay one way or another and they know the NFL is worried they are going to get sued again. The rumor on the street is 2 teams are interested in him so it will be interesting to see what comes out.

He's a backup QB at this point. Nobody wants their backup creating controversy or being in limelight or getting pressured to elevate him to starter..not based on skill but based on politics..nobody.

Don't stir the coals and let the fire die. Most time I'd say you can't fix something by ignoring it. In this case it's definitely the best idea.
